How to Raise a Stud Wall

1. Choose the location for the new wall. Mark that spot on the ceiling.

2. Cut the top plate and screw it into place.

3. Mark where the base plate will go.

4. Measure and cut the base plate.

5. Measure and cut the studs.

6. Place the completed studs into position.

7. Nail two spikes into the base of a stud. Repeat this for each stud.

8. Lift the new wall frame and push it into place. Nail it to the top plate .

9. Drill holes for wires or pipes it needed.
